VA Tech Wabag bags Rs 344 Cr order for 100 MLD lIugin sewage treatment plant

VA Tech Wabag, involved in water and waste water management, has secured an order valued at Rs 344 crore for waste water management in the Philippines.

The order was secured in alliance with a local civil construction company, JV Angeles Construction Corporation from Manila Water Company, Philippines. VA Tech Wabag was the lead partner in the World Bank-funded project, the company said in its filing to the stock exchanges.

The work was for design and construction of 100 MLD lIugin sewage treatment plant for Pasig River Wastewater Catchment, Pasig city, Metro Manila, and the contract period is for two years.

Coleridge Shelley, Country Head, Wabag Philippines, said that it was the largest STP order from Philippines.

The company had earlier got an order for a water treatment plant at Putatan for Rs 125 crore, making  Wabag a prominent player in water and waste water market in the Philippines.

IVRCL wins Rs 1,097.57 crore of building, water and power orders

Infrastructure firm IVRCL Ltd today said its building, water and power businesses have won contracts worth Rs 1,097.57 crore.

"The building division (India and UAE), water and power divisions of the company have bagged orders of the value of Rs 1,097.57 crore," Hyderabad-based IVRCL said in a statement.

According to the company, its buildings division won contracts worth Rs 573.12 crore, while the water division bagged orders worth Rs 471.82 crore. The power business secured Rs 52.63 crore of orders.

The orders include a Rs 368 crore (KWD 17.88 million) order from Kuwait's Zein Advanced Technology Co for the design, construction and maintenance of truck parking lots in Aljahra's Governorate. The project belongs to Kuwait'sMinistry of Public Works.

IVRCL won a Rs 102.66 crore order from theBihar government for extension of the Patna High Court and a Rs 51 crore project to build a cricket stadium in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.

The company bagged a Rs 311.15 crore order from Orissa Water Supply and Sewerage Boardfor construction of sewers in Bhubaneswar and a Rs 63.66 crore order from Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Programme for setting up water supply main pipelines and allied works in Guwahati.

Shares of the company traded at Rs 16.30 on theBSE at 1502 hrs, up 0.62 per cent from the previous close.

Xylem Water solutions India is eyeing Rs 4,000 crore revenue

Xylem Water solutions India is eyeing Rs 4,000 crore revenue by expanding its market base, a senior executive said today.

"We see a huge potential for our business in emerging and developed markets and therefore are looking at increasing production of value-added products like packaged solutions, castings for Xylem global markets and third generation submersible pumps for municipal and waste water applications in the forthcoming year," said its director (operations) Naresh Behl.

Xylem has invested about Rs 110 crore in water technology by establishing a plant on the outskirt of the Vadodara city, he said.

Behl said the company has undertaken a project envisioning building two pumping stations for Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd's Kutch branch canal.

Aquatech Systems Asia & AECOM in pact for wastewater treatment projects in India

AECOM which is a provider of professional technical and management support services to markets like transportation, facilities, environmental, etc has signed an exclusive agreement with Aquatech Systems Asia, for its biological treatment technology for industrial and municipal applications in the India market.



Aquatech Systems Asia, based in the city, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aquatech International, USA. AECOM's design-build business in the UK has signed this agreement with Aquatech.

Cyclic activated sludge system (CASS), an advanced SBR process, is a combination of biological selector and variable volume reactor process.



The process operates with a single sludge in a single reactor basin to accomplish both biological treatment and solids-liquid separation, thereby minimising the plant footprint.

The two partners have already secured an assignment with Aquatech recently being awarded the integrated waste treatment and recycle-reuse project at Mumbai International Airport, which will feature CASS technology.
